My sourdough starter is 155 years old. It came from Russia with the family of a then little girl and it was already an aged starter. That girl is now very old (over 80) and Freddy has traveled from Russia, To Alaska to NY and a friend brought it to me to Oregon. Now Freddy lives with me in Maui. He lost a bit of his spunk and strong sour smell, and I find it challenging to bake in the Tropics.
